The production in Promise of a Summer supports the story instead of distracting from it.

The story in Promise of a Summer is not new, but it is told with good energy.

Kyle, the Hall family's son-in-law, had endured years of contempt and scorn. In a desperate attempt to gather half a million for his sister's medical treatment, he sought help from his classmates, only to be mocked and beaten. The jade pendant, a family heirloom with mysterious origins left by his father, became stained with blood and awakened a hidden power within him. His left hand could heal, while his right could inflict harm. From that moment on, he began to confront those who had wronged him, protect his family, uncover the truth behind his father's death, and seek justice for his father.

Ordinary young man Luke Myers transmigrates to an apocalyptic world overrun by supernatural creatures called horrors. However, he discovers that when others see horrifying, blood-soaked S-rank malevolent spirits and horror lords, he sees charming girls such as cute lolis, elegant ladies, and everything in between, each with distinct personalities.

Born a nameless snake, Ethan Yates was destined to be prey. But with the Ultimate Devouring System, he hunted beasts and refined Spiritual Flames to fuel his rise. After winning the Hidden Dragon Trial and devouring the Serpent Queen, Ethan triggered a Limit-Breaking Evolution. He shattered his lowly bloodline to become a Flood Dragon, seizing his path toward the Immortal Realm.

When Vivian Ye was a child, she endured brutal beatings from her father, leaving her with a deep-seated hatred for domestic violence. As an adult, she became a skilled and justice-driven karate instructor. However, the trauma from her past made her resistant to marriage, much to the dismay of her grandmother, Eleanor Yuan, who made it her mission to see Vivian married. Under Eleanor’s relentless pressure, Vivian reluctantly agreed to blind dates. But most suitors were intimidated by her profession as a martial arts instructor and quickly backed off. Desperate, Eleanor decided to "refine" Vivian’s dating profile, rebranding her granddaughter as a gentle kindergarten teacher. The change worked instantly—Vivian met the charming and refined veterinarian, Jason Ji. Jason was witty and gentlemanly, with only one flaw: he had been married before and now had a rebellious ten-year-old son, Jay. Despite Jay’s open hostility and defiance, Vivian was moved by Jason’s kindness and decided to marry him. When Jay realized his attempts to sabotage their relationship had failed, he tore up the family’s household registration booklet, forcing Vivian and Jason to postpone their marriage registration. Vivian moved in with the Ji family ahead of the wedding. Jay repeatedly tried to lure her into the basement—a place Jason had strictly forbidden her to enter. The basement was always damp, cold, and carried a faint scent of blood. Though Vivian nearly stepped inside several times, she always managed to avoid it at the last moment. Frustrated by her resistance, Jay grew increasingly desperate. Hidden in that basement was the darkest, most bloodthirsty desire. Then, during a strange power outage, Vivian was finally led deep into the basement—where she uncovered the horrifying truth about Jason and Jay. The cruelest member of the Ji family wasn’t Jay… it was Jason. The basement was lined with glass jars preserving the delicate hands of countless young women, their beauty frozen in formaldehyde—all to satisfy Jason’s twisted obsession. Jay showed Vivian footage of Jason beating his own mother to death. His ex-wife hadn’t died by suicide out of shame for an affair; she had been murdered by Jason. Jay, who hadn’t inherited his father’s violent nature, had deliberately acted like a spoiled, unruly child to scare away every woman Jason dated—just to protect them from harm. Instead of fleeing, Vivian chose to stay, determined to gather evidence and bring down the Ji family once and for all.

Alex Falkner is born to be nothing more than a blood donor for his brother, Shawn Falkner, enduring years of mistreatment under Shawn’s manipulation. Even the only person who ever shows him kindness, Faye Cole, agrees to get engaged to him solely because she fears he will stop donating blood to Shawn if he marries someone else.

Sent to ancient Great Chen with three years to collect mystical blade-debts or die, modern warlord Ye Xiu storms the palace on deadline day. Mocked by the Empress, he unleashes heavenly wrath: curing the dying Dowager with ""magic pills"", winning the Princess as servant, and collecting first debt through strategic charm. When nobles scorn him, he humiliates envoys with an ""iron horse"" (motorcycle) and lightning rod (stun baton), claiming 18 provinces. Forced to raise million taels in 7 days, he auctions modern snacks and turns ministers into toilet slaves. His revolution escalates—monopolizing trade with monosodium glutamate, dominating literature with blockbusters, rescuing princesses in armored vehicles. Facing 600,000 rebels, he deploys rifle cavalry and grenades. With debts collected and rebels crushed, the Empress bows to his technological might as he ascends as immortal Blade Sovereign.

But this time, Audra gets a luxury-spending system: spend on her mates to unlock 10x cashback and special powers. She saves the badly wounded General Hawthorne Adrian Hawthorne, calms the raging White Tiger War God Rhett Valecrest, rescues the merfolk marshal Nereus Blackwell at sea, and wins over Lucien Ashbourne, the scheming nine-tailed fox council president. As she puts First Princess Celia Valecrest and every villain in their place, she awakens her SSS golden bloodline, stops the Empire’s beast transformation crisis and rebellion, then rises as Queen to rebuild the Empire with her four lovers.

To ease the growing number of marital disputes and boost the plummeting marriage rate, the government officially launches the "Absolute Split Neural Chip". This chip quantifies the value of every action taken by both spouses in real time — from a word of care or a simple embrace, to housework and bodily harm. All actions are automatically settled at fair market prices, and the implant remains effective for a lifetime once inserted. Lin Yuzhe, a core tech specialist at an internet company, is an extreme advocate of the all-split lifestyle. He has dated his girlfriend Ning An for three years, and he tallies every expense down to every single slice of beef tripe in a hot pot. He even claims outright that "women who demand betrothal gifts or property co-ownership are just trying to get something for nothing". On the day the chip launches, he excitedly proposes to Ning An, promising "no betrothal gifts or dowries, wedding costs split to the exact cent, absolute fairness forever". Ning An agrees calmly, and the two head to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get the chip implanted. Shortly after the chip activates, Lin Yuzhe basks in the satisfaction of "being in full control", yet he quickly learns the harsh truth of "absolute fairness". When he tries to hug Ning An, the system alerts him that he must pay a 15-yuan fee for "unnecessary physical contact". Hogging the blanket all night costs him a 20-yuan "blanket occupancy fee". After Ning An cooks breakfast and cleans the entire house, the system automatically deducts a 150-yuan housekeeping charge from his account. Flying into a rage, he shouts that "it's only natural for wives to handle housework", but Ning An silences him by quoting his own words: "Every bit of effort must be quantified.

Alex Hayes awakens a System to build an Underworld University, teaching ghost-hunting, corpse-driving, corpse retrieval, and shaman-healer arts. As the school's fame grew, Alex took in more students and ascended to immortality through the Nether Path.

Abandoned by his fiancée and exiled by his sect, Adrian Vale awakens the Abyssal Serpent, a spirit beast mocked by all as worthless. Bound by blood, they evolve and rise, becoming a terror the world has never seen. In the final battle, Adrian merges with the serpent, ascending as the Dragon Emperor to shatter the old order and forge a world where all beings stand as equals.
